Ride Away

The mining and forestry history of the Princeton area has created networks of bush roads and trails that go from valley bottom to ridge top. They provide access for ATVs and snowmobiles.

Primary riding areas are:

  • Whipsaw Creek Road: 10 kilometres south of Princeton on Highway 3
  • Copper Creek: 40 kilometres south of Princeton on Highway 3
  • Nickel Plate Road: 3 kilometres east of Hedley on Highway 3
  • Coalmont/Tulameen: 12-25 kilometres north-west of Princeton; many trails, some with direction signs
  • Crater Mountain Motorized Vehicle Area: accessed from the Ashnola Road near Keremeos.

Snow volumes at most sites are high and snowmobiling lasts into May during some years.

Machine sales and services and guided trips are available.

We ask you to ride safely and wear protective equipment.

Please do not ride on the TransCanada Trail, also known as the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. This is the only trail in our area that is designated for non-motorized use only.

For more information, contact Princeton and District Chamber of Commerce or Similkameen Valley Riders ATV Club (250) 295-3554.
